Project details

Young people from Collège du Léman and the International School of Geneva gathered on 6 March at the International Environmental House in Geneva to discuss the issue of Climate Change.

The middle school students discussed the important subject and ways to raise awareness and action for the future of the planet.

The debates and country simulations aim to help students better understand the interdependence and inter-relationships between countries including: sustainable development and global trade, the challenges presented by the unequal distribution of resources, wealth, technology and labour; and the importance of international co-operation within our "Global Village".

This time, students presented statements on the following topics:

  • Climate Action Network an Environmental NGO
  • Institute of International Climatologists
  • Glaciologists from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
  • Oceanographers from The Pacific Research Institute
  • Marine Biologists from Pacific Crest Oceanography Corporation
  • Water management
  • Representative from the island of Tuvalu
  • Le Pays de Merrviels d'hiver
  • An Inuit community from Barrow Alaska
  • Internation Institute  for Eenergy Conservation
  • BMW
  • BP and ExxonMobil
  • SqueezyJet Airllines
  • International Industry Organisation

The event was coordinated by the Earth Focus Foundation, in collaboration with the Geneva Environment Network.
