About the Summaries

The session summaries of PrepCom-2 of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) have been written by volunteer reporters of ICVolunteers who were assigned to each of the sessions to document the presentations. A system was carefully designed by ICVolunteers in collaboration with m.c.art design communications to assist volunteer writers of varying backgrounds in distilling the main points into a brief summary.

It is important to bear in mind that the summaries do not necessarily represent any official position of the Summit. Instead, they are an attempt by individual reporters to capture the major findings and best practices of the many presentations of WSIS as concisely as possible.

It is our hope that while reading the summaries, the reader will keep in mind the enthusiastic and skilled volunteers who devoted their time to synthesizing the results of PrepCom-2. While we have edited the summaries for grammatical and stylistic consistency, we regret that we cannot guarantee the accuracy of all facts presented and apologize in advance for any omissions, inaccuracies or misspelled names.

We would like to thank the reporting team: Simon Hetherington, Zhenying Wu, Sue . The summaries were edited by Viola Krebs, the team coordinated by Kathy Monnier.
